Psychometrics is the study and application of psychological measurement theories and techniques. Although the measurement of psychological and intellectual traits is a common practice in Malaysia, Psychometrics as a professional discipline remains comparatively little known.
The Malaysian Psychometrics Association was founded to promote greater awareness and understanding of Psychometrics among Malaysians, and to help raise the international profile of Malaysian Psychometrics. A further mission of the MPA is to provide support for its members in their ongoing careers and academic development.
Like any not-for-profit organisation, the MPA depends on its membership, and on people like you who show their interest in this growing field by becoming members! Although the organization is operated primarily for those with a professional interest in Psychometrics, our membership philosophy is inclusive. By the same token, membership in the MPA does not in itself imply that one is qualified to develop, administer, or analyze psychological or educational tests in Malaysia.
